MOTHER'S DAY

Americans will be celebrating Mother's Day on Sunday, May 13, 2001. Children will be taking their mother out for dinner or preparing a meal for her to enjoy at their home. The family will gather to show their Mother how much she means to them. Grandchildren and children will bring her gifts. The gift may be a small token a grandchild or child has made for her. Many Mothers will receive flowers and candy but like most parents the gift that will be special is the homemade gift be it a card or a oddly shaped object the child says in vase or pencil holder or something perfectly useless but was made with love.

There is a little saying that was embroidered on pillows when I was a child and it has stayed with all my life. I wish to share this little poem with all of you and hope you will use it to let Mother know how much she means to you.

M is for the many things she gave me.
O means only that she's growing old.
T is for the tears she shed to save me.
H is for her heart of purest gold.
E is for her eyes with love light shining,
R means right and right she'll always be.

Put them all together they spell MOTHER a word that means the world to me.

God Bless all the MOTHERs who gave their children love, kindness, guided them through life, was there through both the bad and good times and never thought that it was a sacrifice.

Happy Mother's Day
